Hello, Welcome to Chep-net. This is a personal space where I store some photos and stories about some adventures and experiences with friends and family on the web. I have some recent photos from Moscow Russia in the Gallery section here. Additionally I have added some short videos from Moscow.
You can browse pictures and videos of mountain biking in
the menu, mountaineering photos and some images
from my personal trips over the past few years with friends. You'll
need Quick Time and Windows Media Player for the movie
clips. Portions of the content here has been supplied by myself and
a few of my close friends. Most of us live in the Pacific Northwest
and we take part in rock climbing, mountaineering and mountain biking in our spare
time. I'm also interested in hunting and would like to take up sea kayaking when I can find the time.
This place will serve as a sharing point for my friends and myself
... or for anyone that wants to take a stop by. I also want to recommend the bulletin board at Ascensionist.com. Since my first forays into the Cascade Range with my old army buddies it has been inspiring to share times with my friends exploring here, British Columbia's Coast Range, the Alaska Range , Mexico, the Sierra Nevada and other places as well. I've lost many old photos because I never saved them into one place and kept track of them. Hopefully I can avoid that by saving everything right here so that I can recall the great adventures I've had. Whether it was getting bum rushed by a moose in Anchorage, climbing obscure mountains in Canada, ice climbing frozen waterfalls, or floating down smooth single track trails on a fat tired bike near Mount Rainier they've all been pretty good times. So what is Chep-Net anyway? Well it doesn't make much sense... for the lack of creating a better name I just named this site after my brown dog Chep. He's been my best comrade over the past 5 years. As the seasons change I will try to add some new content from time to time. I do not announce any new entries here. I don't intend to chronologically list each event in my life but from time to time I will make an update or two. For me the journey is as important as the goal. Any adventure with a grand accomplishment can easily be tarnished simply because of a poor outing or partner. Similarly... a mediocre trip with some good friends can turn out to be a classic experience for me. Here is a video of Talchako Mountain which is one of my favorite movies from the land of Sasquatch and grizzly bears. ~Ray Borbon |
